Design Brief
The idea behind this project was to create a guidebook on a topic you are passionate about. I created an 8” x 8” guidebook of surf spots throughout California, beginning near my hometown, highlighting different elements of surfing, such as etiquette and packing lists. I developed a cohesive visual system using intentional hand-drawn headings and original photography, and a custom map. This project highlighted my style as a designer and helped me showcase many aspects of design,
Process
After creating my guidebook, I sketched wireframes for an app to go alongside the book. I then created a mind map of potential screens I wanted to include in my app. I used Figma to create my app and added features such as messaging, image uploading, and daily surf reports.
